Sturminster Newton’s hydrotherapy pool will be hosting an open day on Thursday from 10am-4pm with the pool due to be fully open to the public in early June 2019.

Now officially named Stourview Hydrotherapy Pool, the facility will be managed by not-for-profit social enterprise, Neptune Aquatic Solutions Ltd.

The pool was originally built for the use of Stour Connect but was closed to the public in May 2018. However, thanks to support from the County Council and the Friends of Stour Connect, new operators Neptune Aquatic Solutions are now able to reopen the pool for public enjoyment.

Located on the site of Stour Connect the pool is just 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Sturminster Newton the facility is a valued local community resource. The pool is special because it is heated to 33 o C which is the perfect temperature for hydrotherapy, often used for the relief of back pain, fibromyalgia, arthritis, autism, musculoskeletal conditions, neurological conditions, stroke, head injury, sports injury and many more.

From June 2019, the pool will open to the public for a variety of sessions including hydrotherapy, disability sessions, hydro-mind, family swims, under 5s sessions, private hire and children’s birthday parties. It will also continue to be used by pupils from Yewstock School.
