A new care service is aiming to create 50 jobs.

Home Instead Senior Care is a new service based in Dorchester, which will also offer care for the elderly in Weymouth, Portland, Purbeck and areas west of Poole.

It is owned by Romesh Dharmasingham, who entered the care sector after the death of his mother.

His mother owned a residential care business.

The new service aims to tailor care to the specific needs of its clients, and will offer companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, post-discharge care, medication reminders, shopping and errands.

Mr Dharmasingham said, “I felt a strong urge to build on my mother’s success in the care sector and make a difference to people’s lives as she had done for me.

“In this role, and over time, I developed a strong understanding of the nature of care operations and what it takes to run a successful business addressing the needs of our clients.

“A few years ago, I made the tough decision to exit the care home business as I wanted to focus on care services that truly meet the needs of our elderly members of society.

“I have a strong belief that there is no place like to home when it comes to making our clients the most comfortable, they can be.

“I want to enable them to experience the very best service and we believe that only care good enough for our own loved ones is good enough for our clients.”

Mr Dharmasingham hopes that 50 new jobs will be created through this new venture.

He is willing to take on people with no experience, as training will be provided. The service will be available all hours of the day, seven days of the week.

Care Manager Catherine Pearce will also take part in the project.

She has more than ten years of experience working in the care sector.

She said: “I believe that caregivers are the most important people within our team as they are at the frontline of our service and ensure our clients receive the best quality personalised service.”
