A FRAUDSTER put 'reduced' stickers on meat at Tesco to save himself £70, a court has heard.

Peter Dwyer, of Brockley Road in Northbourne, admitted the offence at Poole Magistrates' Court last week.

The 51-year-old put the yellow stickers on a number of meat products at the Tesco Extra in Riverside Avenue, prosecutors said. The offence was committed on January 7 2017.

Dwyer was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

A second charge of theft was withdrawn by the prosecution.
