Weymouth's Crab House Café has won ‘Restaurant of the Year’ and ‘Best Hospitality Team’ at the 2019 British Restaurant Awards in London.  

The Awards come down to the public vote and see some of the top restaurants in the UK compete for the top spot.  

The Crab House Café had some tough competition from the likes of Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and Ikoyi, yet came out victorious with support from loyal fans.  

Nigel Bloxham, chef owner Crab House Café said: “We are very honoured to have won both the ‘Restaurant of the Year’ and ‘Best Hospitality Team’ at the British Restaurant Awards last night, both awards reflect the dedication and hard work of the team here at the Crab House.

 To have won these awards based on public voting means even more to us all, with customer service and quality always at the forefront of our work. We can’t thank everyone that voted enough, the whole team are so grateful.”   

The award judges said: "The Crab House Café is a renowned seafood restaurant based on the edge of The Fleet in Weymouth, Dorset - boasting its own oyster farm.

"Seafood here is as fresh as possible from boat to plate, expertly prepared by Chef Nigel Bloxham and his carefully curated team.  

"Hospitality at the restaurant is overseen by Operations Manager Bill Hayne, his team specialise in offering outstanding service and insight into the local produce on the menu."
