As a local Dorset resident, who regularly travels from Dorchester to Weymouth, just recently while on the no 10 bus when it was a very rainy day, all cars seemed to be heading out of Weymouth.
For a long time now there's been no all-weather facilities apart from the Pavilion show times and brief refreshments.
Poole of course has the Dolphin Centre, which shortly will be updated with additional facilities.
Just maybe, with community imagination support, the old Colwell centre could become quite a hub as an all weather place. I know it has been tried and tested, but with small independent businesses it could be a place that could cater for performance day time and weekends, with an internet cafe, facilities for various generations, and tourist information links.
I've been in and looked around, and the potential is worth looking at again.
It's simple - there's no all-weather facilities in central Weymouth.
Come on town council, speak to the younger councillors for inspiration.
