There are some great events happening in west Dorset this weekend and we've compiled a handy round-up for you to chose what to do.

FRIDAY, JUNE 14

  • Bridport Round Table’s Beer Festival returns to Asker Meadows this evening with more than 70 beers and 30 ciders, accompanied by live music. It’s an event not to miss and a highlight in the Bridport calendar. Festivities start at 5pm until 11pm.
  • ‘Our Planet’, the sixth of the eight episodes being shown in Lyme Regis, will be screened at Driftwood Café and Church from 7pm. The David Attenborough narrated series will give viewers the chance to learn more about the future we are facing on our planet. The screenings are free, and refreshments will be available.
  • Miracle Theatre will be bringing ‘A Perfect World’ to the Marine Theatre, Lyme Regis. A feisty young woman ventures into a world of undiscovered jungles, treasure maps and penknives. Bring your own seating for this outdoor theatre experience. Visit marinetheatre.com for more information.

SATURDAY, JUNE 15

  • The main event of Bridport Food Festival takes place today in Asker Meadows from 9.30am to 5pm. A whole host of local producers will be offering food, drink and treats and there will be cookery demonstrations throughout the day as well as a children’s marquee.   • The UK’s largest guitar festival, Guitars on the Beach, returns to Lyme Regis from 10am to 10pm. Hundreds of guitarists of all ages and abilities will come together to simultaneously play together. For more information, visit guitarsonthebeach.com
  • The Bridport Artisan Market will be taking place at the arts centre from 9am to 2pm. There will be an eclectic mix of artisans with great gifts.
  • Bridport Electric Palace will be showing Shazam! (12A) at 11am. Tickets cost £4.50 and are available at Bridport Tourist Information Centre.
  • Have your budding questions answered by the experts at Gardeners’ Question Time. Anna Pavord, Jenny Makepeace, Cyril Whitlock and Charles Chesshire will be on hand from 2pm at Powerstock Hut. Tickets cost £5 and can be paid on the door.
  • Bridport Raspberry Jam , a meet-up of all people interested in computers, coding, robotics and electronics, will be taking place at Bridport Library from 2pm to 3.30pm.

SUNDAY, JUNE 16

  • Bridport Chamber Orchestra present their summer concert at St Swithun’s Church from 3pm. The group will welcome guest conductor, Stuart Ellsmore, and leader Alexandra Ennis. Tickets cost £10 from Bridport Music or on the door.
  • As part of Marine Theatre’s The First 125 Years, celebrating its anniversary, ‘All Over Town’ will be shown for free at 7.30pm. the classic film was filmed in Lyme Regis. In West England, two crusading reporters revive a failing newspaper and expose local corruption, in this romantic comedy. This 1949 film was written by R.F. Delderfield from Sidmouth and stars Norman Wooland and Sarah Churchill.
  • The Lyric Theatre invites you to an evening of comedy with two of Sarah Millican’s 2018 tour supports - Sally-Anne Hayward and Hayley Ellis. They will be performing at the Barrack Street venue after the doors and bar open at 7pm. It is pay what you can on the night.
  • Silent film ‘Hells Hinges’ (1916) will be shown at Bridport Electric Palace from 7.30pm. It will have live musical accompaniment from The Dodge Brothers. Following the film there will be a Q&A with Mark Kermode, Dr Mike Hammond, Neil Brand, Aly Hirji and Alex Hammond. Tickets are available from Bridport Tourist Information Centre.
