Police used a Taser to subdue a man after he was aggressive towards police officers, a court heard.
Anders Naylor, aged 24, and of Robin Close in Weymouth, was arrested after he was reported being drunk and disorderly in Grosvenor Road on Portland on June 8.
Prosecutor Lee Turner told magistrates that Naylor began goading police into a fight by shouting and swearing at them.
Officers had to use a Taser on Mr Naylor, after which he stopped being abusive.
Naylor appeared at Weymouth Magistrates Court on Monday.
He pleaded guilty to the drunk and disorderly charge.
Naylor was handed a conditional discharge of nine months.
If he commits any other offence during this time, he could be convicted of this offence and any new offence committed.
