A MAN has been banned from three Bournemouth churches after he was convicted of harassing a vicar.

Graeme Durno made unwanted contact with Reverend Ian Terry, team rector of the Bournemouth Town Centre Parish, on dates between August 25 and 29 last year.

The defendant, 57, also visited Rev Terry at his home.

Last week, Durno, of Bath Road in Bournemouth, was convicted of harassment after a trial at Poole Magistrates' Court.

He was given a three-year conditional discharge. However, magistrates also issued with him a restraining order banning him from attending St Peter's Church in Hinton Road, St Stephen's Church in St Stephen's Way and St Augustin's Church in Wimborne Road.

He was also banned from having any contact with Rev Terry. The order will be in place until June 2022.

Durno must also pay a £20 surcharge and £200 costs.
