Headline speakers have been announced for a new wellbeing festival taking place in September.

Wellness guru Liz Earle and mediation expert Gelong Thubten will be gracing Dorset’s countryside at the brand new three-day festival, Wellbeing by the Lakes.

The event, at the Sculpture by the lakes attraction near Dorchester, explores mindfulness and how to live in our fast-paced modern world.

Across the three days there will be a blend of expert talks, live performances, mediation, movement sessions, wholesome food and healing therapies in one of the UK’s most unique festival locations.

Liz Earle MBE is a wellbeing entrepreneur, TV presenter and the author of more than 35 books on a range of health, beauty and wellbeing topics which include ‘The Good Menopause Guide’ and ‘The Good Gut Guide’.

Gelong Thubten is a Buddhist Monk, meditation teacher and author who specialises in teaching mindfulness meditation.

He has also collaborated with Ruby Wax on her bestseller ‘How to be Human’ and is currently accompanying her on her UK tour.

He has just published a book called ‘A Monk’s Guide to Happiness’ which was published in June 2019.

The festival aims to inspire visitors by introducing them to a range of wellbeing practices and classes designed to stretch their bodies and minds with classes including yoga and expressive dance techniques.

Visitors will be able to participate in guided mindfulness and mediation workshops whilst sound baths will also be made available.

There will also be creative therapies available, stalls to pursue and live acoustic music to enjoy.

Tashi Lhunpo monks will charm the park by creating a Chenrezig (Wheel of Compassion) sand mandala which visitors may watch before the mandala is ritually dismantled and offered to the River Frome.

Day tickets to the festival start at £20 and the event will run from Thursday, September 19 to Saturday, September 21 2019 from 10am-5pm.

There is a late night performance and live music on Friday with a separate Saturday evening concert until 10pm.
