I did not accuse Ian Brittain of being against free speech (Letters 5 June), merely that he wished to encourage the press not to publish the opinions of a climate-change sceptic.
I would imagine that those scientists who have studied the problem, would have no difficulty in refuting such opinions.
My wider belief is that the press should be free to publish a broad range of views on all subjects, provided they are within the law.
To do otherwise would be akin to the medieval church’s ban on views considered heretical.
