COASTGUARD crews investigate a report of a light under a cliff on Portland that was spotted by a member of the public.
The Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue Team was sent to West Cliff after a light was spotted from Quiddles Cafe by a member of the public under the cliff near to Hallelujah Bay.
They split into three search teams, one team looking from the top of the cliff near to priory corner down, a second walked the coast path out to Hallelujah Bay looking up the cliff and in around the rocks and shoreline, a third searched all around the huts and embankment.
With nothing found and no further sightings of the light in question the team stood down and returned to station.
The coastguard team said: "We would like to thank the first informant for their good intentions, and would like to reminder anyone who sees anything untoward in around the coastal area to call 999 and ask for coastguard."
