PUPILS at Atlantic Academy on Portland were given their first look at their brand new student leadership team, including new head boys and girls.

The school officially announced the selection of it’s new head girl, head boy and student leadership teams, for both primary and secondary, during a school assembly.

The students met the Mayor of Portland, Cllr Sue Cocking, at the event.

Tom Davey and Rosie Wadley will take over the prestigious roles of senior head girl and boy at the academy.

As such they will represent the student body at public events and will play a highly significant leadership role in running the senior student leadership team. Their deputies will be Eloise Bacon and Josh Ford.

This announcement followed a challenging selection process where each of the 11 candidates were interviewed.

In addition, seven other Year 10 students have been selected to become senior student leaders, with specific responsibilities to oversee the Anti-Bullying Ambassador scheme, the Academy’s Environmental Programme and the Student Council.

In parallel with the selection of the Year 10 students to these important positions, two primary students, Finley Southorn and Ellie Savage, were appointed as the junior head boy and head girl.

Alongside them, Liana Ledger, Olly Elkins, Louie McAllister, Amber Harris, Corey Costello and Alexis Barrett will form the junior student leadership team.
