New CCTV images have been released by police following two garage burglaries in north Dorset.

At around 11.30am on Wednesday, May 8, homeowners from Manston, near Sturminster Newton, were out when their garage was burgled.

CCTV from the address showed a white transit twin cab truck parked outside the address at the time of the incident. It had ‘Homegro Tree Surgeons’ written on the side and hatch markings with ‘Motorway Maintenance’ written on the back.

Two men - described as white, aged in their early 20s and of slim to medium build – came from the vehicle and entered the garage. Two Boardman mountain bikes – a silver men’s bike and a black and pink ladies bike – were stolen as well as a Makita drill, a Worx saw and a Makita site radio.

A second burglary occurred at around 2pm on the same day, when offenders prised open the garage door of an address near Milton Abbas and stole a Stihl chainsaw and strimmer. A van was seen leaving the area.

Today, new CCTV images have been released of one of the suspects. Officers are hoping someone will recognise the man pictured.

Police Constable Kate Schofield, of North Dorset police, said: “Our investigations into these burglaries remain ongoing. As part of our enquiries, we are issuing an image of one of the suspects and I would urge anyone who recognises this man to please contact Dorset Police.

“I would urge anyone with any information about the vehicle or either burglary to contact us, particularly anyone who comes across any items matching the descriptions of those stolen being offered for sale.”
