Anyone looking to learn more about the diverse range of butterflies and moths found in Dorset has the opportunity at some events hosted by the Dorset Wildlife Trust.

The Trust is offering a course titled Dorset's Butterflies and Moths, which will run from Monday July 8 to Friday July 12.

It will offer attendees the opportunity to visit Giant Hill, Cerne Abbas, Powerstock Common and Lulworth Cove to explore the range of butterflies and moths.

There will also be a Morning with Moths event, which will take place on Friday, July 12.

This will allow people to explore and discuss the varieties of moths that can be found in Dorset, and will include a home cooked brunch.

A spokesman said: "The warm nights of summer provide one of the best times to see the diversity of moth species in the Kingcombe valley. This special morning event will include identification of and discussions about the moths that will have been caught the night before in the range of special humane light traps set around The Kingcombe Centre and reserve."

Both courses will take place at the Kingcombe Centre, Toller Porcorum, Dorchester.
