It's full steam ahead for this year’s Chickerell Steam and Vintage show.

There’s less than two weeks to go until the annual event gets underway and it's already looking to be bigger and better than last year.

Once again the show will be held at Moor Farm, Knights in the Bottom, Chickerell, Weymouth, (direct access off the B3157), courtesy of the Vine & Hollings families.

Over the last few years ground works to install two new gateways and access roads have taken place at the site which allows easier access for both exhibitors and visitors. There will be ample free parking available for visitors.

All sections from classic cars and motorcycles to tractors and commercial vehicles are now full to capacity.

The model and steam sections will be the biggest yet with 25 full size engines and 43 miniature engines booked to attend, and others set to turn up on the day.

The trade section and food hall marquee are also full to the brim with traders. The food hall is now in its fourth year and will showcase local food and drink.

All the usual attractions that visitors have come to know will be at the event, including classic and vintage vehicle displays, trade and charity stands, craft stalls and demonstrations, fast food stalls, children’s funfair rides, a beer tent and much more.

The show will be welcoming back the Dorset Axemen, miniature steam train rides and a model boat regatta on the lake. There will also be a 1940’s themed tea tent, perfect for a good old cup of tea and slice of cake. There will also be a set of dodgems returning for the second year, for those who love classic fairground rides.

Visitors will also be treated to a full program of live music over the weekend starting with Elvis 56 on Friday night, July 5, supported once again by Weymouth Sounds Easy Disco. Other bands playing over the weekend include Weymouth Concert Brass, Blazin Strings, Jolly Boys Outing, Under the Carousel, Milk & Two, and Glass Spiders.
