I SEE that Victor (Vic) Wells has died, and while he is acknowledged as a founder member of Portland Rotary Club, some readers may also recall that it was he who was the original founder of Chesil Beach Motors (CBM).
It was Vic who took over the former Craven Bros. Garage in Portland’s Victoria Square and traded there as CBM until constant flooding forced the business to move to where it now trades.
