TWELVE houses and ten flats could be built on a paddock between Spa Road and Roman Road in Weymouth.

A planning application for the council-owned site has been submitted by local builder Ray McIntyre in the name of Devon and Dorset Properties Ltd.

Public comments can be made on the application until August 6th. A decision is expected to be made by a planning officer rather than a local planning committee of councillors.

The site, which is west of Roman Road and north of Spa Road, is described as an unused pony paddock and is owned by Dorset Council.

The proposal is for four two-bed flats, two two-bed houses, and 10 houses of four or more bedrooms for the open market together with six one-bed social housing flats.

The developer says the scheme will have 36 car parking spaces and 44 cycle spaces.
