A Weymouth pub has been nominated for a national award again.

The Rendezvous, which is known for hosting the Quayside Music Festivals, has made it to the final at the Great British Pub Awards in the category of 'Best For Entertainment'.

The pub previously won the same award in 2017 and was a finalist in 2018.

Manager Keith Treggiden said: "Since we started our quayside festivals twelve years ago, we have grown to almost maximum capacity. We never stop seeking out new talent and we’ve built a reputation over the years that has meant we’re an aspiration for emerging acts. The festivals offer so much more than just music, it’s an experience, capturing the essence of British music, with beer and cider, gins and great street food.

"We have a huge building that we maximise to its full potential. It’s thanks to the dedication of the entire team and the loyalty of the town that we have done so well. We’ll keep on rolling out new ideas to stay on top of our game."

The Quayside Music Festival weekends hosted by the pub frequently attract more than 4,000 visitors.

The pub also recently won the ‘Contribution to Tourism Award’ at the Dorset Echo Industry Awards.

The winner of the Great British Pub Awards will be announced at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Thursday, September 5.
