Portland Port welcomed another cruise ship this morning.
American cruise ship Sea Princess arrived at the port today, making it the latest vessel to dock in Portland during this busy cruise season.
The ship is operated by Princess Cruises - a large US cruise line owned by Carnival Corporation. It has a maximum capacity of 2,016 people, weighs 77,499 tons and 261.3m long.
The year 2019 marks the first time that the company are operating into Portland Port, and this is the first time the Sea Princess has visited.
Other Princess ships docking in Portland this year include the Crown Princess, which arrived on April 30, and the Pacific Princess, which is due to dock on September 11.
Ian McQuade General Manager – Commercial, said: "It has been an amazing cruise season so far and to be seeing so many ships on their inaugural visits is a testament to the hard work that everyone has put in to making Portland Port a desired location.
"To be able to welcome three inaugural cruise ship visits from Princess Cruises in a matter of just a couple of months is very satisfying.
"Securing one call from such a globally renowned brand really is great recognition of the Port establishing itself as a destination of choice, but to receive three in the same year is simply fantastic for the Port and the local area."
A total of 44 cruise ships will dock at Portland Port this season, and will come from Europe and Australia as well as the United States.
