MORE than 30 firefighters tackled a blaze that started on land owned by the Ministry of Defence in Dorset.
Fire broke out at the Lulworth Ranges yesterday morning. Seven crews, along with a water carrier and a 4x4 Unimog, attended the incident.
Crews were expected to be at the scene for most of the day to monitor the fire and make sure it does not spread.
The blaze started in the Bindon Hill area at around 10am.
Due to its location it proved difficult to fully extinguish, according to Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesperson said the fire was in two areas - one measuring 80x50 metres and another approximately 10x50m.
