Today after being appalled by the 'mess' left by horses along a stretch of the beach at Greenhill and on the promenade by the chalets, I learnt from the beach control office that horses are allowed to be ridden along the beach.

This is allowed? Surely not.

It must be dangerous for horses to be sharing the beach with families and the 'mess' is staggeringly filthy.

I was rendered incredulous by the explanation given that horses were indeed allowed and by the beach control officer’s response that he would speak to his litter pickers!

This is not a task for litter pickers it is a foul and dangerous practice.

Dogs are forbidden on the beach, and rightly so, but shouldn’t these equally dangerous and dirty creatures be banned too?
