Lyme Regis has been familiar to me for many years and I now live here.

I have no more difficulty in crossing Broad Street than in the past apart from one factor.

What I have noticed is the increasing speed of the traffic passing through. With parked cars, narrow pavements and many pedestrians it can be a daunting task to cross the street.

Has anybody considered at least partly solving the recent controversy regarding a possible pedestrian crossing by reducing the speed limit of traffic to, say, 20mph? I for one would feel much safer.

Let’s forget about placing, in my opinion, an unnecessary pedestrian crossing and simply reducing the traffic speed.
