Plans for infrastructure improvements in a north Dorset town will be on display to the public next week.

Dorset Highways engineers have invited residents to speak with them about how they plan to improve traffic flow at four of the busiest junctions in Gillingham.

The improvements are being funded with £3.45m secured by the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership through the Government’s Growth Deal.

The junctions included in the plans are:

B3081 Shaftesbury Road junction with Newbury (High Street)

B3081 Shaftesbury Road junction with B3092 New Road

B3081 Le Neubourg Way / Station Road

B3081 Shaftesbury Road / King John Road

Pedestrian and cycle facilities between Cemetery Road and Station Road, and around the B3081 junctions, are also being enhanced.

The funding will also enable the design of Enmore Green Link Road.

Plans will be displayed at Gillingham Town Hall, with engineers available to answer questions, on Tuesday July 16 from 11am- 3pm and Thursday July 18 from 12.30pm- 7pm.

Anyone unable to attend can see the proposals and fill in the feedback form at dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/gillingham-growth-package
