GOULDS Hill between Upwey and Martinstown will be closed this week for more roadworks.
Two weeks of work was completed on July 5 to rebuild and strengthen the edges of the carriageway and resurface a 1,800m stretch of road.
However, Dorset Council has said that tests of the road's surface have shown that it is "unlikely to perform as expected and needs to be replaced."
Goulds Hill will be closed 9am to 5pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week for a new surface course of material to be laid through the site.
The cost of this remedial work is being met by Dorset Highways' partner Hanson UK.
Until this work can be carried out, an advisory 40mph speed limit will be in place.
This will only be a daytime closure, unlike the previous works that had two-way traffic lights in place overnight.
