BODY cameras worn by police appear to have resulted in fewer complaints about officer behaviour.

The claim comes from Police and Crime Commissioner Martyn Underhill who says the cameras are now also being worn by PCSOs and will soon be rolled out to special constables.

He told the county’s police and crime panel that although there was, as yet, no measurable evidence linking fewer complaints with the rise in the use of body worn cameras he said that, anecdotally, it appeared to be the case.
