Changes are being sought for the redevelopment of the former Dorchester Arts Centre.
East Boro Housing is converting the site into homes for people with a learning disability and limited mobility.
It is now asking Dorset Council to agree some changes to the original scheme to convert the former school hall into two one-bedroom houses and to build three one-bed terraced homes in the grounds.
The updated application asks for the demolition of some later single storey buildings at the former Grove School and for the removal of a residents lounge from the scheme.
The housing trust says that two of the proposed carer bedrooms are also no longer required.
Comments on the proposed changes are open until July 30.
