Hi readers, it’s Emily and William here this week writing at the same time as Federer and Nadal are playing the semi-final match at Wimbledon.
This is bad timing for me William, as I am enjoying watching the tennis. We are writing as efficiently as we can so I can get back to see the end of the game. At the moment it’s one set all, and Federer has won the first game in the third set. I would like Nadal to win. I’m not sure why, probably simply because I think he is the better player.
What I like about Wimbledon is the fact there are so many good tennis matches to watch, including wheelchair tennis and all the doubles matches. It’s good to see the crowds getting behind the players, and I like seeing the players families and who’s in the Royal Box. It’s got to be about the most traditional British sports tournaments out there, and I like the atmosphere, as it’s mostly quite relaxed.
As for me, Emily, I’m not so keen on watching tennis but I would love to start playing again. I used to go to tennis club at school and although I wasn’t any good, I enjoyed playing. Jo from the Friendship Club is talking to someone in Weymouth who might be able to support us to play again, which would be great.
It’s a big weekend of sport coming up too. We will be watching the tennis finals, even though I Emily will half watch it as I’ll be at my friends house. I, William, will also be catching up with the British Grand Prix on Sunday at Silverstone, the Tour de France, and of course the Cricket World Cup final on Sunday. Let’s hope England win that!
