Once again we are faced with the Conservative version of democracy.
Mr Chisholm in his letter has pinpointed the big flaw in our new council.
Why is it that a referendum on leaving or remaining in the EU is sacrosanct to the Conservatives, regardless of the consequences, whilst the referendum on local government by an unelected,
so-called Cabinet, (an over-whelming NO) has been totally ignored?
Given that now all decisions cover a huge new area, where once were real local councils, surely the public must be consulted about their quality of future life, wherever possible. Some of us can actually read and write now.
Is this the democratic way in which our new Prime Minister is about to be elected? Not by the Conservative party members, but by a cabinet within that party, never mind the numbers.
