Firefighters were called to a school in the early hours of the morning after its alarms were sounding.
The incident happened at Atlantic Academy Portland near Osprey Quay.
Portland Fire Station was alerted to the incident at 3.45am.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “The crew was called to the former IPACA campus near Osprey Quay due to their alarms issuing.
“Crews were met by the local key holder and conducted a full search of the premises before declaring the alarm as false and returning to the station.”
Portland Fire Station is still looking for people to join its team.
The fire service spokesman added: “If you feel joining our team at Portland station is something you could do apply via DWFireRescue website or alternatively contact our station officers via the Facebook page.”
