It's nearly the last Dorset Art Market of the summer and organisers say the next event will be the biggest yet.

On Saturday July 27 the local art and crafts fair will return to the Avenue Stadium, Dorchester, for the penultimate event of 2019.

The final planned market will take place on Saturday August 31.

Feedback on the previous markets has been excellent, organisers say, with visitors describing the quality of work on display as "exceptional”.

Starting this spring, the art market events have been held regularly in Dorchester, bringing together a different group of talented artists from across the county to sell affordable originals, prints and handmade items.

These range from wall art and gift cards, to hand-printed items for the home, and ceramics.

One of the market organisers said: “This promises to be our biggest and best market yet, with more artists and an exciting range of works on sale."

Artists from Weymouth and Portland will be exhibiting and selling their work at the market, as well as stalls from artists based further afield including Lyme Regis, north Dorset, through to Purbeck.

More information on the artists who will be attending is available at www.dorsetartmarket.co.uk.

The market will be at The Avenue Stadium in Dorchester, home of Dorchester Town FC next to the Tesco superstore. It is being held between 10am-2pm and is free to attend.

Free parking is available next to the stadium at the former Park and Ride site.

Dorset Art Market is a Community Interest Company, established to support local artists and arts in the community.

The market was set up to provide another way for local people and visitors to see more of the work of local artists, and for artists to sell work directly in the community.

Organisers are running the events on a non-profit basis - any profits made will support other local arts initiatives.
