Coastguard and lifeguard teams helped a person with a suspected spinal injury on Weymouth Beach.
An individual was injured during a training exercise at the Pavilion end of the beach, according to Wyke Regis Coastguard Rescue Team.
In an update shared on social media, a spokesman for the coastguard said the team was contacted by ambulance crews and asked to assist with the incident at around 6.42pm on Wednesday.
An initial assessment of the injured person confirmed possible spinal injuries.
"One of our resident RNLI beach lifeguards, who happened to be passing, accessed the lifeguard tower and provided pain relief to the casualty", the spokesman said.
Paramedics carried out further medical checks before the casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance.
