Hi readers, it’s Emily and William here this week, talking festivals. Emily went to a festival recently so I, William, have asked her some questions about her experience.

Where did she go? Well, Emily camped at Chickerell Steam rally with some friends. She slept in a tent which apparently wasn’t that hard to put up, and used a blow up bed. She hadn’t camped for 16 years and wonders why she hadn’t camped before.

Apparently even the bed was comfortable, at least once she had an extra duvet, because it was cold on the first night. She slept well and enjoyed waking up when the sun rose, with lots of activity going on.

She saw loads of different classic vehicles, steam engines and tractors. She said the lawn mower racing was hilarious. One man had a motorised bath to race around the track, and someone else had a supermarket trolley with a motor on it!

Emily visited many stalls selling foods and crafts, and heard lots of music. They watched a good Elvis tribute on the first night, and the second night they stayed by their tent as it was so busy at the rally. She said it was pleasant to hear the music, sitting on their chairs outside their tent.

Emily reckons it’s a good festival for people with disabilities as there was good access. The only problem being Saturday as there were maybe too many people, and it was difficult to get around.

Emily thinks if camping is always this easy, she wants to do more, and try out different festivals. I, William, like this idea too.

Readers, watch this space and maybe this time next year we will be telling you about more festivals we’ve been to in 2020.
