Wifi, a flat screen and DVD player ensure all the mod cons are available if you want them.

There’s access to the cottage garden, and lots of options to enjoy breakfast either alone or with the host.

Cosy Dorset cottage hideaway, Hinton St Mary

This quaint, tiny thatched cottage is within walking distance to the White Horse pub and two miles from Sturminster Newton.

It is surrounded by great walks and cycle routes and offers a traditional cottage experience, with very low ceilings adding to its charming features.

Guests are treated to complimentary jam, eggs, butter, bread and croissants.

Idyllic Dorset hideaway

Perfect for two guests, this gorgeous Shepherd’s hut sits deep in Dorset’s rolling hills where you are surrounded by nothing by nature.

The hut contains a comfy double bed, and despite any thoughts to the contrary, is warm and cosy, even in winter, thanks to the log burning stove.

There is a microwave combi-oven and a single gas ring and a fire pit outside to BBQ.

There is a separate bathroom with a shower, loo and sink.

The fields surrounding the hut contain a prize-winning herd of grass-fed Dexter cattle, with products available for guests to buy.

There is also a pool for guests to use.

Yurt with stunning views, secluded and relaxed, near Bridport

This beautiful yurt and be lived in all year round. With a cosy woodburner for winter and a fire pit to enjoy on the decking during the summer, it is a perfect getaway for four people.

The hand-painted Mongolian yurt in Marshwood Vale has its own field with views across a farm without a road or house in sight.

An eco loo and shower are provided, and at time you could even be sharing the field with lambs or Angus calves.

There is no lighting, so bring a torch and be prepared to live a stripped back life.

One recent guest said: “The most beautiful idyllic place in a very, very pretty place. Such a quiet peaceful relaxing stay and I would recommend so much. We had the best time.”

Thsi private members club is available for private hire, as well as events and weddings.

The accommodation can cater for up to 50 people, with a swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi as well as a bar on site.

Set within an 8.5 acre estate of mature landscaped gardens and ancient woodlands, the grounds also include a stream and lake.

The range of accommodation includes three double ensuite rooms in the house, one bedroom safari tent, two two-bedroom safari tents and five bell tents.

There are no kitchen facilities but catering options are available.

This cottage is stunningly fitted out but still retains its 18th century charm.

Situated in the garden of a English Heritage listed thatched cottage, guests have access to the Dorset countryside and the Jurassic coast.

There's a wood burning stove for cosy nights in and just across the lane there is an orchard wood for you to enjoy as well.
