Around 40 homes were left without electricity following power cuts.

A total of six customers are without power in the Broadwey area of Weymouth yesterday.

Power was expected to be restored just before 4pm.

Meanwhile another six customers in the Bincombe area of Weymouth were left without power.

They’re believed to have suffered a power cut just after 11am and electricity was due to be restored at around 2.30pm.

Earlier in the day a total of 13 customers in Dorchester lost power at around 6.30am.

According to Scottish and Southern Electricity (SSE), engineers attended to find out the cause of the fault.

Meanwhile, a total of 11 customers in Piddletrenthide were left without electricity after a power line went down due to the windy weather.

Engineers attended the scene to help deal with the issue.

At the time, a spokesman for SSE said: “Engineers are at both jobs at the moment working to restore power to customers as quickly and as safely as possible.

“We would like to thank customers in the area for their patience and we apologise for the disruption to the supply this morning.”
