A van was left on its side after a crash in Wareham yesterday (Sunday, August 11).

A two-vehicle crash occurred on the A352 near to Middlefield in East Stoke.

Dorset Police was alerted to the incident at 1.28pm.

An ambulance was also requested to attend along with the fire service following reports of people trapped.

A fire service spokesman said: “At 1.30pm fire control took a 999 call from the ambulance service to reports of a road traffic collision with one van on its side.

“Fire crews from Wareham and Poole along with an officer were mobilised.

“On arrival all persons were free from the vehicles and the crews made the scene safe.”

According to the ambulance service, four people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Road closures were in place at the East Stoke turning at at Wool Bridge Roundabout whilst the incident was being dealt with.

According to police the road was cleared by 3.25pm and both vehicles were recovered.
