Spring Gardens on Portland will be closed for five days next week.
This is to enable Wessex Water safe access to carry out repair to the highway.
Dorset Council has issued a notice prohibiting vehicles from proceeding along Spring Gardens between High Street and Fortuneswell.
A spokesman for Dorset Council said: “The notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise likelihoods of dangers to highway users.”
The closure will be in place from Monday, August 19 and is anticipated to be completed by Friday, August 23.
On this occasion there will be no alternative routes available.
