Two colourful new artworks have been unveiled in Weymouth town centre.

They can be seen in St Alban Street at the St Thomas Street end.

The project is a joint effort by Weymouth BID and the town council to improve the visual impact of St Alban Street and make it more 'welcoming and interesting'.

One of the art boards depicts boats in the bay and the Esplanade and was created by local artist John Horrell.

The Waterside Arts and Let's Make It community groups jointly produced the second board which depicts the beach.

Claudia Moore, BID Chief Operations Officer, said “We are proud to have initiated and supported this worthwhile project and are grateful to Julie Hursthouse and her community groups for their impressive work.”

The BID and the council would like to thank Argos and its landlords Betterment Properties for permitting the use of this wall.
