YET again, the speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow is exceeding (even abusing) his authority – something he has been doing consistently since he was first elected to the post over a decade ago.
The job of the high office of Speaker is to determine which members of the House may speak, and perform some administrative and procedural functions.
The role of the Speaker, who is supposed to be politically impartial, most certainly is not to use his/her position to forward his/her own political agenda.
Mr Bercow is a disgrace to the High Office for which is totally unsuited and every day he remains in the Speaker’s chair brings the post into further disrepute.
Given the man’s total inability to exercise his power impartially, I suspect that when he does finally quit, he will be snapped up by the BBC!
