A crash, agricultural vehicle fire and house alarms made a busy day for firefighters.

Bridport's firefighters responded to four different incidents yesterday.

They were sent out to alarms at a residential home in the early hours of the morning and an alarm going off at a house around lunchtime.

Later on, they were called to assist with a crash before being sent out to a agricultural vehicle fire just before tea time.

If you think you'd make a good firefighter, the service is having a Have a Go recruitment event in October.

You can speak with crews at the station and have a go at some of the selection tests at the event on October 9 between 7pm and 9pm.

Don't forget

Bridport Fire Station is hosting an open day next month.

There will be a wide range of activities for the whole family, including learning about the dangers of cooking during a chip pan fire demonstration, as well as a look around the fire station to learn about the equipment and vehicles used.

Children can get their face painted, have a go at the crockery smash and bring along their teddy to send it down the teddy bear zipwire.

Money raised will go towards The Fire Fighters Charity, which provides support, advice and information to fire fighters.

The open day takes place on September 7 between 10am and 4pm.
