There was a race against the clock to stop flames spreading across a field and destroying all its crops after farm machinery caught fire.
Firefighters were called to a field near Toller Down Gate, close to Beaminster, on Thursday.
They found a baler well-alight, along with some barley straw and stubble.
They worked quickly to bring the fire under control and stop any further loss to the crop.
The machinery was destroyed by the fire, according to a spokesman for Beaminster Fire Station who said: "Unfortunately the baler has seen its last harvest."
It was the second fire of its kind this week.
On Tuesday, a tractor was destroyed in a fire in Misterton.
