A CHANGE of use to convert two industrial units at the North Mills industrial estate, Bridport into a gym has been refused – on a technical issue.

Consent for the change of use was requested for units 5 & 6 at the Edwards Building.

Luke Hayter Fitness wanted to use the building from 6.30am to 9.30pm on Monday to Friday and 7am to 12pm on both days at the weekend. His application said there would be little change to the exterior of the building and that the self-contained site has adequate parking.

The application was decided by a Dorset Council planning officer using delegated powers.
