Two electric vehicle charging points could be installed in the Bridport Leisure Centre car park.
The planning application to Dorset Council for the two rapid charge points comes from a Hampshire-based company Insta Volt.
It is asking to use two parking spaces to the right of the entrance as drivers come into the site, almost directly opposite two existing disabled parking spaces.
Comments on the application, which will be decided by a planning officer under delegated powers, are open until September 13.
