Staff, customers, some chillies and linguine were blown away when a celebrity chef visited a west Dorset restaurant.

As part of ITV’s This Morning programme, chef John Torode – best known for being one of the judges on Masterchef – was at The Club House in West Bexington, live on air cooking a crab linguine in the garden.

However, the broadcast was interrupted by a helicopter landing on the restaurant’s lawn, which caused some of the ingredients and items to blow away, while Mr Torode was talking to presenters Davina McCall and Rochelle Humes through a live video link to the studio.

But this did not deter the chef as he managed to save the linguine from falling over and carried on.

In response to the helicopter landing at the event last week, Steve Attrill, of The Hive Beach Company, owner of The Club House Restaurant, pointed out that even “the chillies were blown away to be working with John Torode at The Club House."

It is thought that the helicopter film will be shown again on Monday’s This Morning when usual presenters Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield return to the show.

The two days of filming included an ITV drone filming John Torode cycling down the road towards The Club House before cooking up crab linguine.

This is the second filming visit by This Morning to The Club House.

Last year featured celebrity chef Phil Vickery and again a live link back to the studio from the restaurant on the coast, and they are expected to return next year.

Mr Attrill said it was an “absolute pleasure to work with such a professional team and, particularly, John Torode” and he is looking forward to hosting This Morning for a third year running next year.
