Motorists experienced long delays after the A31 was closed in both directions due to a crash.
The collision, which is believed to involve two vehicles, happened between Canford Bottom roundabout and Merley roundabout, near Wimborne.
A woman was cut from the wreckage of her Toyota RAV4 and sustained slight head and leg injuries.
Traffic built up on the A31, as well as other roads in the area.
Heading westbound, queues were almost back to the Ameysford roundabout, while there were delays back along the eastbound carriageway beyond Merley roundabout.
At around 7.10pm the eastbound side of the road reopened, however, westbound remained shut while emergency services dealt with the incident. A diversion was in place via B3073, A348, A341 and A349.
The road fully reopened at around 8pm.
