A 25-YEAR-old man from the Bournemouth area has been left in a serious condition following a collision on the M621 between Bradford and Leeds.

The incident happened at around 3.54am on Saturday, August 31, on the eastbound carriageway of the M621 near to junction 27.

It comes after a motorcyclist in his 40s died following a collision with a car in Dorset on Sunday.

A spokesman from the West Yorkshire Police confirmed the bike involved in the incident was a Hyosung.

They said the motorbike was travelling on the eastbound carriageway of the M62 and then exited at junction 27 to join the M621 towards Leeds.

The motorbike then collided with the central reservation.

The 25-year-old male rider suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for medical treatment. He has not been further identified.

The M621 was closed for almost six hours while officers dealt with the crash.

The road was reopened at around 10.52am.

This comes a day after another man suffered serious injuries in the collision with a black BMW 1 Series on Sunday afternoon, and was airlifted to Southampton Hospital.

The man, from Wiltshire, was riding his silver Honda motorcycle on the B3157 Coast Road between Abbotsbury and Swyre in West Dorset when the collision took place at 2.03pm.

Police revealed that he died in the early hours of yesterday morning. He has not been formally identified.

Enquiries are ongoing to contact next of kin and police and the coroner are further investigating the cause of the incident.
