A TAEKWONDO school in Pokesdown is offering free sessions to encourage new recruits.

TKD4kids, which holds weekly classes at Pokesdown Community Primary School, is offering a free first session for its Beginners Classes starting in September to encourage more young people to try out this Martial Art.

The sessions are open to both girls and boys of all abilities, from age 5, and offers the perfect introduction to learning an established martial art, taught by highly trained and experienced instructors in a fun and safe setting.

Jethro Hegarty, who set-up the school in 2014, said: “These sessions are fantastic for children as they help to improve fitness and build confidence, whilst giving them the chance to meet new friends and learn new skills in a fun and disciplined environment.”

The Beginners Classes are held every Tuesday at 4.30pm and Friday at 5pm and students can come to one session per week or both. Intermediate classes are also available for children aged 11 and above on Tuesdays and Fridays at the same venue.

These sessions further develop fitness and athletic potential and build on the skills already learned whilst continuing to progress through the TKD syllabus, as well as offering regular gradings and competitions.
