PORTLAND'S only petrol station is to close temporarily from today.
The Esso service station at the top of Easton Lane will not be selling any fuel from now until Friday, September 20.
A sign displayed at the shop entrance said the closure is due to 'major' and 'essential' works to improve the forecourt facilities.
'We apologise for any inconvenience caused', the sign reads.
The Esso shop will remain open throughout the duration of the works.
The next nearest place to refuel is the Esso station outside Tesco Express at Lanehouse, or the Esso station in Cumberland Drive on the Granby Industrial Estate.
