A rescue operation was launched after a bag was found at a beauty spot.
Coastguards were called to Durdle Door at around 9pm last night.
A member of the public had spotted an unattended bag, which contained personal items, by the water’s edge.
Kimmerdige Coastguard was then called to provide additional support.
A spokesman for Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team said: “We conducted a thorough search from Durdle Door to Bat's Head.
“With no information to suggest that the person who owns the bag had come to any harm or any clues further along the beach, the teams returned to their stations at 11.30pm.
“Dorset Police and Solent Coastguard Operations Centre continue with their enquiries.
“If you own the bag, or have any further information regarding the incident, please contact the police or Solent Coastguard.”
