A free course will start this month to help families with their finances.

If you are working hard but only just getting by, have nothing left at the end of the month, or struggling to save money, you may be a JAM family: Just About Managing – but you are not alone.

Research by the Resolution Foundation suggests that roughly 1,900 households in Dorchester may be in this situation.

The free, three-week course run by Christians Against Poverty (CAP) will take place at the Dorchester Baptist Church starting on Saturday, September 14.

The CAP Money course has been running since 2008, 6,000 people a year take the course and an overwhelming 98% would recommend it to a friend.

CAP money coach, Dick Howard, said “This course helps people to take control of their finances. It is designed to help people budget, save and spend better.”
