IF YOU'VE not been on your bike lately or are new to the world of cycling, help is at hand thanks to free training sessions being run by Dorset Council.
Supported by Dorchester Town Council, they will be holding a series of refresher cycle training sessions to give residents added confidence behind the handle bars.
The one hour taster sessions will be led by Dorset Council's own adult cycle trainer and will run between 10am and 3pm in Dorchester Borough Gardens tennis courts on Wednesday 18 September.
A spokesman said: "Cycling is a brilliant way to improve your fitness, cut traffic congestion, save money and reduce your carbon footprint - but most people are put off by the traffic or because they feel out of practice.
"No bike? No problem, just let us know when booking and we will have a bike and helmet ready for you."
There is no charge for the sessions but places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and people must book in advance using an online form: dorset-self.achieveservice.com/service/Adult-cycle-training-taster-session
Bookings will close at 5pm Monday September 16.
